Cake flavors in different tiers

We wanted to have different flavors of cakes in our 3 or 4 tier cake.  Is there any flavor of cakes that should not be put together in the same cake for fear of the flavor "spreading" to the other tier?  Like Carrot Cake, Pumpkin Spice Cake, Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet?

Hi Katrina, many thanks for joining us at the Tell the bride.com forum.
To answer your question the only way a cake flavour could ‘spread’ to the next tier would be if the cakes and /or fillings were actually touching each other. A cake board separating each tier would prevent this.
As far as the structural engineering of stacking the most suitable cakes is concerned, that is another issue.

Once you decide what cake flavour you would like in your wedding cake, ask your cake maker /baker if they can accomodate your request.
